About this game

Bending Light With Mirrors

Light Flux is built around a single, focused task: a light source emits a beam, and you must route that beam so it reaches every sensor on the board. Mirrors are your only tool. You click and drag them onto the grid, then rotate them by clicking to change the angle at which the beam reflects. The puzzle is solved when all sensors are lit at the same time, not one after another.

Reading the Board Before You Place

Every level introduces a new arrangement of obstacles and sensors, so the layout itself is the puzzle. Obstacles block the beam, which means a mirror that works on one board can be useless on the next. The sensible first move is to trace the beam's starting direction from the source and work outward, rather than scattering mirrors and adjusting afterward. Because mirrors can be rotated, a single placement often has several possible outcomes, and finding the right one is the core decision.

Controls and Platform

Light Flux is designed for desktop computers and is not optimized for mobile devices. A keyboard and mouse work best, and full-screen mode is available for a larger board view. There are no downloads or installations, and the game is free to play in a browser. The visuals stay clean and simple, which keeps attention on the light path rather than on decoration.

Difficulty and Approach

Later levels add more sensors and obstacles, so the number of simultaneous reflections grows. That increase is the main source of difficulty, not timers or penalties. If a layout stops making sense, clearing every mirror and starting from the source again is a legitimate strategy. The game suits players who prefer steady analysis over reaction speed, and it is family-friendly in content.

Editorial Notes

Simultaneous sensors raise difficulty

Requiring every sensor to be lit at once, rather than sequentially, is what makes mirror rotation meaningful. A placement that solves one path can cut off another, so the final board must satisfy all constraints together.

Obstacles force fresh thinking

Because each level rearranges obstacles and sensors, strategies from earlier boards rarely transfer directly. This keeps the puzzle from becoming a memorization exercise and pushes players to re-read the beam's starting direction each time.

Desktop-only limits the audience

Light Flux is explicitly not optimized for mobile devices, so touchscreen players cannot easily place and rotate mirrors. The keyboard-and-mouse setup and full-screen mode are the intended way to play.

Compatibility

• OS: Windows 10+, macOS 11+, iOS 14+, Android 10+
• Browsers: Chrome 100+, Safari 15+, Edge 100+, Firefox 100+
• Not compatible with Internet Explorer
Tested on real devices ✅ works as expected

Does Light Flux work on phones or tablets?
No. Light Flux is designed for desktop computers and is not optimized for mobile devices. A keyboard and mouse are recommended, and full-screen mode is available. If you only have a phone, the click-and-drag mirror placement will not behave as intended.
Do I need to download or install anything to play Light Flux?
No download or installation is required. Light Flux runs directly in a browser and is free to play. You only need a desktop computer with a mouse or keyboard to place and rotate mirrors on the board.
Can a sensor be lit one at a time, or must all be lit together?
All sensors must receive light at the same time for the level to be solved. This is why mirror placement and rotation matter so much: a setup that lights one sensor may block the path to another, so the final arrangement has to satisfy every sensor simultaneously.
What should I do when I get stuck on a Light Flux level?
Remove all mirrors and start fresh. Begin near the light source to confirm the beam's initial direction, then place mirrors one at a time and rotate them to test different reflection angles. Trial and error is part of the design, and a clean board often reveals a path you missed.
Does Light Flux have a time limit or lose condition?
The game does not impose a timer or a lose condition based on mistakes. You can take as long as you need to observe the board and experiment with mirror placements. Difficulty comes from additional sensors and obstacles in later levels, not from pressure or penalties.
Is Light Flux suitable for children?
Yes. Light Flux has clean, simple visuals and family-friendly content with no graphic material. The puzzle format rewards patience and logical thinking, so it can work for younger players as well as adults who enjoy brain teasers. Reading the board carefully is the main skill involved.
